Where will you be in 20 yrs? Present motives important

Peter denied – Judas kissed – whats better?

Actions don’t always reveal heart – preach, lead, worship – but not outside – Judas gave lip service

Alan (not real name) – rough diamond – messed up – right heart

Peter messed up alot – looked the idiot – heart right – Judas slick – clever – heart wrong

Pic – black heart then red heart – importance of right heart

Warning – hearts change

Theologian to agnostic – Worship leader to atheist

Judas – movies depict as bad from start – but chosen / treasurer – bag for poor

Perhaps zealous as Peter – disappointed – heart switch – betrayed – threw coins into God’s house – hung himself

Remorse not repentance – knew done wrong – upset with self – sickned – but didn’t return like Peter – focus was self not Jesus

– ‘It would be better for him it he had never been born’ (Jesus)

Peter wept bitterly – returned to Jesus – declared his love

Peters come back Jn21.15-17
