Peter denied – Judas kissed – whats better?
Actions don’t always reveal heart – preach, lead, worship – but not outside – Judas gave lip service

Peter messed up alot – looked the idiot – heart right – Judas slick – clever – heart wrong

Theologian to agnostic – Worship leader to atheist
Judas – movies depict as bad from start – but chosen / treasurer – bag for poor
Perhaps zealous as Peter – disappointed – heart switch – betrayed – threw coins into God’s house – hung himself
Remorse not repentance – knew done wrong – upset with self – sickned – but didn’t return like Peter – focus was self not Jesus
– ‘It would be better for him it he had never been born’ (Jesus)
Peter wept bitterly – returned to Jesus – declared his love
Peters come back Jn21.15-17
When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.

Denied 3 times – restored 3 times – hope for backsliders
Guard your heart
Two disciples tempted – one heart grew cold – other hot
– one hung him self – the other led the church
Hows your heart?
Cheetah smaII heart – horse big heart – staying long distance requires a big heart for Jesus – develop your heart!
Eyes lamp of body – Mt 6.22 – spiritual eye a door for light or dark – watch what you’re letting in – guard your heart!
